According to Mike Blumenthal, Google Places is now tightening up their verification options for new online businesses to be included on their listing.
The quote Mike has from Google reads:
“I understand there have been some recent questions about verification methods. If a business is new to Google, certain verification methods may be unavailable depending on the information provided for the business.”
New-established online businesses are required by Google to have a Post Card Verification instead of confirming it over phone. With this new option, it may slow down the process of verifying their listing on Google Places but on a lighter side, this may be a great help for Google to fight spam.
