Google Places Limits Verification Options for New Online Businesses

According to Mike Blumenthal, Google Places is now tightening up their verification options for new online businesses to be included on their listing.

The quote Mike has from Google reads:
I understand there have been some recent questions about verification methods. If a business is new to Google, certain verification methods may be unavailable depending on the information provided for the business.

New-established online businesses are required by Google to have a Post Card Verification instead of confirming it over phone. With this new option, it may slow down the process of verifying their listing on Google Places but on a lighter side, this may be a great help for Google to fight spam.
