Animated Wavy Google Doodle for Heinrich Hertz 155th Birthday

Today, Google features a new animated wavy Google Doodle in celebration of 155th birthday of Heinrich Rudolf Hertz, a German physicist, who first proved the existence of electromagnetic waves.

His pioneering work paved the way toward development of wireless telegraph, radio, television and radar. In fact, his name later became the term used for radio and electrical frequencies, as in hertz (Hz), kilohertz (kHz) and megahertz (MHz).

This latest animated GIF Google Doodle which is currently appearing on Google Search Homepage (Google.com , Google.com.au etc), features electromagnetic waves inspired by Google colors (blue, red, yellow and green). It was designed by Sophia Foster-Domino, an illustrator, cartoonist and a graduated student from Rhode Island School of Design. After she finished her studies, she joined the Google Doodle team in 2010.
